EVENT SPECIFIC ITEMS
1 ORGANISING AUTHORITY
The Organising Authority (OA) will be the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club (RBYC).
The venue will be Hamilton, Bermuda.
3 PROVISIONAL PROGRAMME
(a) Race office open from 0900 hours Monday October 6, 2015
(b) Registration on Monday October 5 between 0900 hours and 1000 hours; 1500 hours and 1800 hours and 1930 hours and 2030 hours and on Tuesday October 5 between 0730 and 1200.
(c) Crew weighing will be at time of Registration (3.1.b).
(d) Practice from 0900 hours to 1200 hours and 1300 hours to 1600 hours on October 6.
(e) First briefing at 1700 hours, Tuesday October 6, 2015.
(f) First meeting with umpires will follow the first briefing.
(g) Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 1800 hours.
(h) Racing days from Wednesday October 7 to Sunday October 11, 2015
(i) Time of the first race each day will be 0900 hours except for Sunday October 11, 2015 when the scheduled time of the first race will be 1000 hours.
(j) Daily press conference 30 minutes after the last race of each day.
(k) Prize giving will be immediately after racing on the final day.
3.2 Unless excused by the OA, attendance at the following is mandatory:
(a) Initial briefing for skippers.
(b) Daily briefing, for skippers.
(c) Photo shoot with the whole team in team clothing after weighing in.
(d) Daily press conferences, for skippers sailing that day.
(e) Pro-Am event (Scheduled for Friday October 9, 2015).
(f) Final Four reception for Semi Final skippers and crews.
(g) Prize giving for the final skippers and crews.
3.3 Once a competitor is eliminated from further competition, their attendance is no longer mandatory at any event function but they are welcome to attend if they so choose.
4 INVITES AND WITHDRAWAL
4.1 16 skippers will be invited.
4.2 The winning skipper/s will be invited from the Bermuda Match Racing Nationals and the Knickerbocker Cup.
4.3 When a skipper accepts an invitation and later withdraws within one month of the event or leaves the event before the end without written approval from the OA, a zero score may be applied to their Ranking points for that event by the ISAF. (ISAF Regulation 27.2)
5 DAMAGE AND INSURANCE
(a) An initial damage deposit of US$1500 shall be paid at registration, unless extended by the OA. This deposit is the maximum payable by the skipper as a result of any one incident. (b) If a deduction from the damage deposit is decided by the OA, it may require that the deposit be restored to its original amount before the skipper will be permitted to continue in the event. (c) Any remaining deposit after the event will be refunded within 10 days after the event.
6 BOATS AND SAILS
6.1 The event will be sailed in International One Design boats.
6.2 Ten (10) boats will be provided.
6.3 The following sails will be provided for each boat: Mainsail, Jib, and Spinnaker.
6.4 Boats will be allocated by draw, either daily or for each stage as decided by the Race Committee.
7 CREW (INCLUDING SKIPPER)
7.1 The number of crew (including the skipper) shall be four or five.
7.2 The maximum total crew weight, determined prior to racing shall be 350 kg, when wearing at least shorts and shirts.
8 EVENT FORMAT
8.1 Event Format 6 as described in STR Attachment A will be used.
8.2 The OA may change the format, terminate or eliminate any round, when conditions or the remaining time scheduled do not permit the completion of the intended format.
9 RACING AREA
9.1 The intended course area will be Hamilton Harbour.
10.1 The principal prize for first place will be 2015 Winner of the Argo Group Gold Cup and recipient of the King Edward VII Gold Cup.
10.2 First prize - $US 35,000
Second prize - $US 16,000
Third prize - $US 12,000
Fourth prize - $US 11,000
Fifth prize - $US 8,000
Sixth prize - $US 7,000
Seventh prize - $US 6,000
Eighth prize - $US 5,000
10.3 These prizes have been approved by the national authority.
10.4 ISAF has been notified of these Prizes.
10.5 The OA may reduce a prize in the case of misconduct or refusal to comply with any reasonable request, including attendance at official functions.
11 COACH BOATS
11.1 Coach boats shall conspicuously display identification of the team being coached. A coach boat is any boat that is under the direction or control of a person gathering information or giving material support for the benefit of particular competitors either on the water or off.
11.2 The OA will not provide berths for coach boats.
11.3 Any interference by a coach boat with the racing or event organisation may result in a penalty applied at the discretion of the IJ to the associated skipper or team.
12.1 All those taking any part in the event do so at their own risk. The OA, its associates and appointees accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or inconvenience incurred, howsoever caused.
