Eric started sailing at six on a Surprise yacht (similar to a J/24) and by the age of eight was racing. He has participated in many regattas with his father and/or two brothers and his main focus is on match racing. Eric and his team, Capvis Swiss Match Race Team, are familiar faces on the World Match Race Tour. Since joining the tour in 2006, he has always finished in the top 20. Eric has achieved several semi-final spots in the Argo Group Gold Cup (2010, 2012) and placed 2nd in 2014. Other notable results have been the wins of Teamwork Geneva Match Race (2014), Cleanport Winter series Final (2014), the Knickerbocker Cup (2014, 2015), Championnat de France Elite (2016), Thompson Cup (2018), CER Match Race Cup (2018), Match Race Germany and the European Championships (2018) multiple 2nd place finishes such as the EUROSAF Open Match Racing European Championship (2014), Bodensee Match Race Act III (2014), Match Race Germany (2015), Oakcliff International (2015), Sopot Match Race (2018) amongst many others. He is considered among the best monohull and multihull match racers. A win at Bermuda Gold Cup continues to elude Eric. A new father, Eric is hoping 2023 will be his year to raise the King Edward VII Gold Cup.
