Chris grew up along the coast of Maine and started sailing optimists at ten and is familiar with the International One Design as he sailed out of the North East Harbor Fleet. He diversified his skills at the Maine Maritime Academy where he completed his first ocean crossing representing the U.S. at the Student Yachting World Cup in France. Chris is currently the top-ranked American (and Open Match Racer) at No. 1 in the world rankings and has been leading his team, Riptide Racing, to success in the cutting-edge classes of competition since 2012. Riptide Racing are the 2023 winners of Congressional Cup - the first team to do so undeafeted in any match. Chris finished 5th at the 2020 Bermuda Gold Cup.
